Praise

Praise Them

The birds don't alter space.
They reveal it. The sky
never fills with any
leftover flying. They leave
nothing to trace. It is our own
astonishment collects
in chill air. Be glad.
They equal their due
moment never begging,
and enter ours
without parting day. See
how three birds in a winter tree
make the tree barer.
Two fly away, and new rooms
open in December.
Give up what you guessed
about a whirring heart, the little
beaks and claws, their constant hunger.
We're the nervous ones.
If even one of our violent number
could be gentle
long enough that one of them
found it safe inside
our finally untroubled and untroubling gaze,
who wouldn't hear
what singing completes us?

Weather Work in the Middle World

Update from the Tuesday Drum Circle and Thunderstorm

I discovered on Wednesday that we indeed had been visited by the Thunder Beings!! Apparently lightning struck either the house or the garage because our solar system was blown out as well as the garage door opener motors!

The storm was "connecting" with us because we had done journeys to connect with it. This is why working in the Middle World can be dangerous and very powerful, not something to take lightly.

Let's reflect on this experience, maybe by journeying, to find out what happened and why from a spiritual perspective. Was the storm blessing us in some way? Healing some of us? What was the message other than "Don't mess with me"? Kate and I strongly feel that the storm was not angry. No one was hurt. What will your journeys tell you?

A reminder that there is no drum circle the last 2 weeks of August. See all of you in September.

Many summertime blessings,

Pat

Elephants Mourning

This is a touching article that was in Sandra Ingerman's Transmutaion News for May.

Wild elephants gather inexplicably, mourn death of "Elephant Whisperer"
Author and legendary conservationist Lawrence Anthony died March 7. His family tells of a solemn procession on March 10 that defies human explanation

For 12 hours, two herds of wild South African elephants slowly made their way through the Zululand bush until they reached the house of late author Lawrence Anthony, the conservationist who saved their lives.

The formerly violent, rogue elephants, destined to be shot a few years ago as pests, were rescued and rehabilitated by Anthony, who had grown up in the bush and was known as the “Elephant Whisperer.”

For two days the herds loitered at Anthony’s rural compound on the vast Thula Thula game reserve in the South African KwaZulu – to say good-bye to the man they loved. But how did they know he had died March 7?

Known for his unique ability to calm traumatized elephants, Anthony had become a legend. He is the author of three books, Baghdad Ark, detailing his efforts to rescue the animals at Baghdad Zoo during the Iraqi war, the forthcoming The Last Rhinos, and his bestselling The Elephant Whisperer.
